Australia and New Zealand

My sister is in Australia and New Zealand for a few months with her work. She loves computers, software, trainings, and travel. A great combination. So I thought in her spare time  :) she might be able to scout out some interesting yarns, and fabrics while she is doing her weekend jaunts.

She doesn't sew, but she loves interesting artistic pieces. And most of her weekends are planned with lots of places to absorb. It is their winter there.  17 degrees Celsius.

I will share some of the interesting places she is travelling. And what she has found as she travels. These are definitely some of the destinations that are  bucket list ideas.

Are you looking for something to do for the summer with the kids and sewing. Why not take them to do a kids quilting class at your local quilting store. One great idea to get them involved with is a small doll quilt swap. I came across this and thought it was a terrific idea. Or just simply make one for themselves.

I am thinking about making a very simple quilt, in the future. I love the simplicity of some of the quilts I have found. And more will follow. The fabrics are very pretty. I can already think of ways that machine embroidery might be something I would like to add to a few of them. I believe I will start with the smallest car seat quilt first since I have a new little niece. A sewing machine in my suitcase might be an idea  :) for my travels.
